It has none of the bitterness of say, old english or colt 45. But like Billy Dee says it really "works every time". It is not even on the same level as what most people define 'malt liquor' as. The flavor is far too smooth and complex, so I think it's more of a retro advertising campaign more than anything. It’s hard to really call this a malt liquor. Comment on Dogfish Head - Fort by Fraser http://mybaryourbar.com/2007/03/25/dogfish-head-fort/#comment-3638 Wed, 31 Oct 2007 13:17:15 +0000 http://mybaryourbar.com/2007/03/25/dogfish-head-fort/#comment-3638 I'm a huge fan of Dogfish Head brews, especially their stronger ones and their fruit beers so thought this would be a perfect marriage. I tried this last night with my wife and although it looks and smells great I found it to be almost undrinkable. It is unique and one to be tried but I was almost glad when it was all over! I felt I was drinking hard liquor and it sent shivers down my spine after each sip! The initial and aftertaste just didn't do it for me. It wasn't that it was poorly executed, it was the fact the concept just didn't work for me. I still love Dogfish Head beers though and look forward to sampling more of their unusual stuff. I often pour a little more sweet vermouth but its just because I perfer the flavor. What is your favorite bourbon? i'm curious? I'm a Basil Hayden and Maker's Mark man myself. Back in the 70's I was a part owner of a California winery (Stony Ridge Winery) in Pleasanton 1 hr South of San Francisco. We were a shoestring operation but did ok for a few years. Chardonney-Zin-Merlot-etc. The winery burned down a few years ago and has been rebuilt. I can't drink anymore due to a medical condition but I sure enjoyed it when I could. Cool blog. John Heiss Matt,

You just can't get kitron anywhere. When we were in Naxos, I recall the drink being served at room temperature. That is how I drink it now. It wouldn't hurt to try it both ways though ;-) That's what makes the world go round... Hey sarah, you sure have a nice friend! You just can’t get kitron anywhere. So I was wondering-how should it be served? My guess is chilled like limoncello, is this true? hi, I recieved a bottle of this from a friend and had no idea what it was until just now when I googled it.
